the "CHEAT CODE" series connects the controlled environment of computer games with the dark but basic side of human life. the term “cheat code” refers to hidden cheats in computer games which, once activated, make players invincible, faster, enhance their protection shields etc. within the space of a game environment, the use of a cheat code is an act of bending the rules with the aim to extend the range of action,
the ultimate goal being survival. while it makes it easier for a player to accomplish a mission, it should not be forgotten that a cheat code affects numeric values of parameters, but does not change the parameters as such. while it could be understood as an act of empowerment, the use of cheat codes reinforces the validity of the rules. - Udo Lee ( 2011 )
