A student at the Studio Berçot in Paris, Yun Jung Kim presents a collection of religiously inspired fashions. After a visit to Spain, Kim began to work on the major aspects of religious life: fear, respect, obscurity and peace. She also noticed the abundance of embroidery on the religious garments and set about to marry the idea of fashion and religion together. Using lightweight materials such as satin and organza for the base of her designs, Yun Jung Lim embellishes her creations with restrictive materials such as fur and leather to illustrate the suffocating effects of spirituality.
