Nissan revealed its FORUM Concept at the Detroit auto show, following a preview in December. Intended to showcase Nissan’s advanced minivan design study, the FORUM features “an advanced Bose Media System with proximity sensor-based information controller, a one-button audio muting system, 2nd and 3rd row monitoring cameras, and individual seat-mounted speakers for every row.”

"I wanted to create a look where not every line continues all the way though," exterior designer Joel Baek told CDN. "I thought that was too expected and I wanted to give it more emotion." Dynamic elements such as the full-width head and tail lamps also give the concept a wider stance, while aerodynamic wing mirrors appear more as sculptures than functional devices.

The interior of the FORUM will be very similar to the recently unveiled Nissan Intima Concept. The FORUM features trackless sliding doors and no B-pillars, aiding in entry and exit. The Forum was penned at Nissan Design America.

The stylish interior features modish, wraparound seats, a microwave oven located toward the rear of the center console, and cool wave-like carpeting, but does not bother with the mundane utility of folding or removable seats. The Forum is designed for a front-engine, front-wheel-drive powertrain, and is slightly smaller overall than today's Quest.
