In November, Woo was authorized to provide preliminary design services for the Nerman Museum. Woo will be working as a subconsultant with the local architectural firm Gould Evans Goodman L.L.C., which was selected in September to provide overall architectural and interior design services for the college’s new Regnier Center for Technology and Business and the adjoining museum, as well as a parking deck. The total estimated basic cost for all architectural and engineering work.
Controlled natural lighting is provided for in the entire upper and lower level galleries, except in the museum's specialty black box, media gallery. The exhibition spaces are connected by dramatic monumental stairways bathed in natural light, which highlight the ascension to serene upper level galleries. The program of the gallery spaces are clearly identified as a stone volume, cantilevered from the core of the museum, the beginning of the art journey, a large frameless glazed lobby wall.
